Somerset Oaks is a retirement village where you can retire in the most beautiful tranquil surroundings, designed for people over the age of 55. It is set in 11 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, flanked on one side by large oak trees and the Lourens river and fringed on the other side by Somerset West Central. We are surrounded by the magnificent Helderberg and Hottentots Mountains and many of our units have lovely views. It is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of all major shops, medical facilities and Medi Clinic Hospital.

SECTIONAL TITLE

Somerset Oaks is a sectional title development run by a body corporate. The body corporate (trustees) are all home owners in Somerset Oaks and therefore have a vested interest in ensuring the continued good governance of the village. Management and Conduct Rules have been drawn up in accordance with the Sectional Title Act. The trustees meet monthly, any suggestions a resident may wish to have discussed can be put in writing and be placed in the Management Box or alternatively, they may attend a meeting to present their point of view personally.

LEVIES

Monthly levies cover building maintenance and repairs, garden care and maintenance, insurance of buildings, water and 24 hour security.
On the sale or transfer of a unit, a 10% stabilization levy is applied on the profit.

SECURITY

Maintaining a secure environment is of paramount importance within the village. Perimeter palisade security fencing, 24 hour security controlled entrance and exit, and 24 hour patrols throughout the village helps to ensure we continue to do all we can to maximise peace of mind within the village.

CLUB HOUSE

Somerset Oaks has its own club house which is the centre of all social and sporting activities. Social events such as trivial pursuit evenings, sing-a-longs and talent evenings are periodically organized by the residents. A monthly time table, of events happening such as Bible study, bridge, bowls and croquet, is available from Janet at reception.

LIBRARY

The library is open from 13h00-13h30 Monday to Friday. There is a very good selection of books, including large print publications. The library is manned by volunteers and is free of charge.

LOUNGE

The lounge is an informal gathering place before lunch, and drinks are available from our cocktail bar from 12h00 daily. After lunch, tea and coffee is served. The cocktail bar is also open on Thursday evenings, which is darts night, and on special occasions. During the week bridge and rummy are played in the lounge. A special table is allocated for those interested in doing Jigsaw puzzles.

TV LOUNGE

The TV Lounge boasts a 72 inch Television and video recorder and DVD.
